Looking south at the La Sal Range, pillars of sandstone are scattered across the landscape of Arches Nat'l Park; at times they seem as common as the rock columns. While the park is known mostly for the oval-shaped natural bridges, it's full of unusual rock formations.

This isn't very far into the park, just short of Balancing Rock, and across from the road to Canyonlands National Park.
