A view of the Vancouver's northern suburbs, and some of the industrial waterfront, from Stanley Park. Twilight comes early this late in the year, around 5 pm; the city is lit up along with all of the local harbors. This vista is slightly north-east of the city's iconic Lions Gate Bridge, leading on to Whistler and points north.
Vancouver is perhaps North America's largest Pacific Coast city; even the scale of the northern suburbs in this photo pale in comparison to Seattle ( a la Bellevue ). Much like Seattle, construction is a constant element in the landscape; the crane toward the right edge of the frame are a roaming fixture of life in a growing city.
