A minor tributary that feeds White Horse Falls, a small campground in a remote corner of Umpqua National Forest. The understory of Pacific forests is generally dark, but lush; here we have a variety of plant life, fallen trees slowly decomposing into nutrient-rich soil, moss, all supported more by rain than the river passing through. This photo was shot in late evening, as sunset approached - the diffuse yellow light filtering through the trees in the upper-left corner of the frame is know as the "golden hour" effect.
