Halfway up the Angels' Landing trail to the cliff-tops, the path weaves in and out of the mountainside as it struggles up the face of the cliff. The entire canyon is painted a deep shade of reddish-orange that glows in the sunlight, made from Navajo sandstone. Below, the Virgin River lazily heads west through the valley it carved over the last several million years.
